Flowertown Festival
Summerville, SC is situated on a pine-forested ridge slightly northwest of Charleston, SC and was first inhabited in the late 1700’s as a relief for Charlestonians from the summer heat, mosquitos and disease. The town’s motto is “The Flower Town in the Pines” and thousands of tourists flock to the town during the Spring to experience the wealth of Azalea blossoms along with the world famous Flowertown Festival.
The annual Flowertown Festival 3 day event celebrates the incredible beauty of springtime in Summerville, SC and Festival events include over 200 arts & crafts booths with artists from all over the country, a Children’s Jubilee, live music from local artists and a “taste” of the Lowcountry sampling of cuisine.

Animal Planet Expo Charleston
Explore the wonder of wildlife and celebrate the important role animals play on this planet during the Animal Planet Expo August 16th 2008. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Exchange Park in Ladson, you and your pets can enjoy live exotic animal presentations, pet-friendly activities, a 30-foot-long inflatable "King Croc" slide and question-and-answer sessions with local veterinarian Dr. James Southard.
