Explore the wonder of wildlife and celebrate the important role animals play on this planet during the Animal Planet Expo August 16th 2008. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Exchange Park in Ladson, you and your pets can enjoy live exotic animal presentations, pet-friendly activities, a 30-foot-long inflatable "King Croc" slide and question-and-answer sessions with local veterinarian Dr. James Southard.

High-flying Frisbee dogs will put on shows at 11 a.m., 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m., while presentations of exotic animals such as pythons, vultures and kinkajous will be 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., 1 and 2:30 p.m.

The Charleston Animal Society will be on hand to provide pet adoption opportunities and helpful information on how to find the perfect pet for your family.

Other activity pavilions include the Animal House, Bug House, Kids' Zone, Heroes of Animal Planet and Spider Mountain. And it's all free.
